ROG Phone 5s - Unboxing
After much deliberation, I still succumbed to my temptations to get the ROG Phone 5s as a replacement for my ROG Phone II. Tbh, I was really unimpressed at the lifespan of the ROG Phone II as I really only used it for gaming purposes (I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite as my day-to-day phone). Despite the fact that it hasn't completed died on me, I'm experiencing a lot of sudden shutdowns, and game freezes from it in recent months.
So, I got the unit at SGD$1,399 which was $200 off its regular price of SGD$1,599. Upon self-collection at the Bugis ASUS/ROG experience store, they would take you through the whole process (known as staging), which involves inspecting the unit for cosmetic defects, sound system, camera, and explanation on the warranty stuff before having to sign off that the unit was received in good condition.

Samsung Galaxy S9 - Unboxing
✮ Samsung Galaxy S9 ✮

Unboxing the Galaxy S9 |
S9 in Coral Blue |
First impressions on the S9:
❃ Expandable storage space - the device itself comes with 64GB internal storage but there's a slot for an external micro SD card (for up to 400 GB, according to their official site). I was originally worried that they might start in-building everything to the point that they remove the micro SD card slot as well, but thankfully... they still retained this functionality.
❃ Nano-sim
❃ USB-Type C - this is a different cable from the ones given for the older Samsung devices... Kinda sad about this. Being a house of Samsung users, new phones meant extra chargers and cables to share.. considering I'm also using their Samsung Camera, I'll have to bring a separate cable for it once I start using the S9. Gotta get a new cable to connect to the portable charger as well.. π
❃ In-built battery
I'm quite excited to try out their camera (especially in low light) to see if it lives up to expectations. After all, Samsung seems to be well known for their camera features.. \(^w^)/
But before that, I need to go grab some cables first and sort out my current handset's media... :')
Till then~

δΈηͺγγ (Ichiban Kuji)
[Do you know/Have you heard of Ichiban Kuji?]
I didn't, till Jocelyn-chan mentioned about it when we met up the other day! Its a kind of sure-win lottery giving a variety of prizes depending on your luck. In Singapore, it costs $10 per ticket and can be found at most anime/otaku related shops - just look out for posters such as the one below with the δΈηͺγγ logo and you could just go to the counter and ask them about it.
Before getting the tickets, you might want to check the prizes that are still available! Many of these are while stocks last or only come stocked with 1 of each (esp. the 'top' prizes). You wouldn't want to be spending 10 dollars knowing that you have no chance at the better merchandise, would you? π
