Tree of Savior - First Thoughts

Tree of Savior - F2P released 10th May 2016

YAY to the long awaited release of the F2P version. It had been an agonising 2 weeks waiting as its release was postponed from its original release date on the 29th of April.

First Thoughts on the Game
- Awesome Graphics

That was really one of the key things that struck me when I entered the game and created my first character. The whole idea of a team lodge (basically the character selection page) was brilliant. Friends can add each other through their respective team names so you never have to add your friend more than once. :D

On the first day of the release, the lag was so bad that all the quests weren't showing and I spent my time being confused and lost because I had no idea where to start. It was honestly pretty frustrating, but thankfully, the team has been diligently working on the server/lag issues the past week and there had been quite a vast improvement from what I had experienced.

Having played during different times through the day, I have noted that the issues are more prone to appear during peak gaming hours (SGT 18:00 - 23:00). Not to mention, the queue to get into the server during those timing.

So as much as you can, do avoid those peak time slots if you want a premium gaming experience (I know its impossible for working adults T^T I feel you).

Putting the lag/server issues aside, I really like the entire gaming experience, the storyline and the different game mechanics (especially how I can simply press the "backspace" button after meeting quest requirements and it teleports me back to the NPC to complete it).

Overall, I do think that despite the current issues, ToS is worth a try. (Y) :D:D
